Sefer HaShorashim by the Radak. Venice 1547-48
By Rabbeinu David Kimchi, the Radak (one of the Rishonim). An important and foundational work on Hebrew grammar, organized alphabetically. Originally published as part 2 of his book “Michlol”. Printed in Venice by Lord Marco Antonio Justinian. The title page lists the year of printing as 5207 but the last page, which has a beautiful poem entitled “Alzu bechol Levav”, hints that the printing was completed in 5208 (still 1547 in the Gregorian). Title page with a pretty wood-block engraving, and the beginning of each section has a framed bit made from a pretty engraving.
