Dedication of the author the great Gaon Rabbi Meir Arik. Tal Torah, Vienna, 1921 – Single Edition - Sefer Tal Torah by Rabbi Meir Arak. Only edition. Vienna 1921. [1]. 60, 2-48 leaves. Extra title page on original wrapper. Very good condition, new binding. Front wrapper with 2 line manuscript dedication by the author to his friend Rabbi Yosef Baumgarten the Vienna Rosh Beth Din. Stamps of the recipient & his son Rabbi Shlomo Baumgarten. The famous Gaon Rabbi Meir Arik (1855-1926), received Semicha from the Gaon Rabbi  Yaakov Weidenfeld (Kochav M’Yaakov) and the Gaon Rabbi Sholom Mordechai Schwardron (MaHarShaM). Renowned as a great Gaon and Posek, he was one of the foremost Poskim of his time particularly in Galicia. He was revered by all his contemporaries, many of whom crowned him with glorious accolades and titles. He served in numerous Rabbinical positions, most notably in Butchash and Tarnow.  Many Polish Torah scholars were his close disciples, including the renowned Rabbi Meir Shapira of Lublin and the Kozhiglover Rav Rabbi Aryeh Zvi Frumer, the Dzikov Rebbe Yehuda Horwitz, Rabbi Meshulam Roth author of Kol Mevaser, Rabbi Reuven Margaliot and Rabbi Yehoshua Erenberg Rabbi of Tel Aviv. Author of Imrei Yosher, Minchas Pittim, Tal Torah and other notable Seforim. Rabbi Meir Arik was a prominent Chortkov Chassid, deeply attached with bonds of love, fear and submission to his teachers Rebbe David Moshe and Rebbe Yisrael of Chortkov. The leading Torah scholars of his generation greatly revered him. Rebbe Maharid of Belz declared: ”After Maharsham [of Berezhany], we don't do anything in our court without consulting R. Meir”. Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinski praised him: ”Such a R. Meir, we don't have in Lithuania”. He passed away in his sukkah on the 16th of Tishrei. The Gaon Rabbi Yosef Baumgarten, Dayan & later Av Beit Din of the Schiff Shul of Vienna, was born in 1864 in Helishoya, and was a student of the Chatam Sofer. He was the son-in-law of Rabbi Shalom Dov Ber Stern of Szerdahely. Published articles in 'Tel Talpiot', died in 1933.  Stamps of his son  of Rabbi Shlomo Baumgarten of Vienna-London.
