LARGE ATTIC BLACK GLAZED POTTERY AMPHORA - Ca. 400 - 350 BC.A nice pottery amphora with a black glaze. Sitting upon a discoid foot, the vessel has a bulbous body with a narrow base, a broad, rounded shoulder, a concave neck, and a flared rim. A pair of arched handles gracefully connect neck to shoulder. The glaze is particularly glossy, almost iridescent, and is representative of a remarkable innovation of the ancient greeks.
