ROMAN GOLD RING WITH INTAGLIO DEPICTING JANUS - Ca. 200 - 100 BC A Roman gold finger ring with a simple and elegant round hoop connected to an oval bezel. The bezel secures a black stone portrait of the god Janus, seen in profile wearing a tunic with two Bullae. This portrait has been crafted with great attention to detail in the facial features and beard. It is evident that this object was created by a prominent workshop, most likely located in Rome.
