HELLENISTIC TERRACOTTA HEAD OF ZEUS - Ca. 200 - 100 BC A Hellenistic mould-formed terracotta head of Zeus. His naturalistic beard is charachterisitc of hellenistic style. His visage comprises thin cheeks surrounding full lips, a slender nose, recessed almond eyes beneath heart-shaped brows, and a broad forehead. His coiffure is voluminous and wraps around his face on both sides. The layer of pale orange slip adds a fleshy tone to this beautiful deity effigy.
