FLINTLOCK BLUNDERBUSS PISTOL - Ca. Mid 18th Century AD An interesting percussion cap blunderbuss that despite having a short stock is most accurately described as a pistol. The lock plate and hammer are engraved with a swirling, plant-like motif. The rear of the handle, over which the thumb would traditionally rest, is a thin silver applique in the form of a Green Man. A gun such as this, despite its association with pirates, was much more likely to have been used by cavalry.
