RARE COLLECTIBLE WALKING CANE W MAP OF BOSTON 1940 - A rare, collectible vintage wooden and metal walking cane from 1940 with a retractable map of Boston. The cane was created specifically for attendees of the American Legion Convention held in Boston in September 1940. Produced by the In-A-Cane Display Company of Boston, the map was designed by Richard F. Lufkin. Concealed within the wooden shaft is a spring-loaded paper map. It depicts downtown, Boston Common, the Public Garden, the Charles River, and the American Legion parade route is marked with a blue line. Antique and Vintage Walking Canes, Americana For Collectors.
