The box is heavily embellished with gilt silver overlay decors. The front face features a royal or imperial monogram set within a crowned, blue guilloche enameled circle decor surrounded by diamonds. The upper part displays a large coin, featuring the profile of Alexander I, Emperor of All Russia. The box is further decorated with gilt silver foliate overlay decor featuring gemstones at the corners. The sides are adorned with overlay decor depicting a fish. The eyes of the fish are set with gemstones The box has a hinged lid with an inner lid topped with a gemstone finial. Marked with manufacturer and an 84 Russian silver standard on the bottom.
