Framed. Yuri Ivanovich Georgy Pimenov, Russian, Soviet era, 1903 to 1977, was a painter, graphic, and theatre set design artist. His painting subjects were portraits, figure, landscape, genre, still life and Soviet propaganda. The numerous subjects covered in Pimenovs work are associated with everyday Moscow life. A peoples artist of the USSR, he was a Full Member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR, and Laureate of the Lenin and State Awards of the USSR.
