ATTR TO KRISHEN KHANNA INDIAN OIL PAINTING MUSICIANS - Oil on canvas painting. Attributed to Krishen Khanna, born 1925, an Indian self-taught painter, member of the Progressive Artists Group. His abstracted figurative artworks showcase Indian idioms and human values. The artwork depicts a group of orchestra musicians. Signed in the lower left. Throughout his career Krishen Khanna has explored the perennial relationship between the visual and musical arts. During the 1950s, Khanna moved to Madras, where he became increasingly drawn to classical Carnatic music, attending concerts with his musical mentor, Narayana Menon, almost every evening.
