Circa: 1889 to 1890. Signed lower left. Framed. Additionally inscribed and dated, on the backside. Edward Bannister is known for Idealized landscape, marine, portrait and still life painting. He was the best known landscape painter associated with Rhode Island in the late 1800s, and was the first African American artist to win national recognition.
