MIXED MEDIA GENRE PAINTING SIGNED DAVID BURLIUK - A mixed media on paper painting signed David Burliuk, Russian, 1882 to 1967. The painting depicts a genre scene with a girl and a woman playing with dolls. Signed Burliuk and dated 1946 lower right. Matted and framed. David Davidovich Burliuk was a poet, artist, and publicist associated with the Futurist and Neo-Primitivist movements. At the outbreak of World War I, the artist fled to Siberia and then Japan before relocating to New York in 1922. His works are held in the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C., and the State Russian Museum in St. Petersburg, among others.
