FRENCH RUSSIAN ART DECO SEASONS SERIGRAPH BY ERTE
Erte or Romain de Tirtoff, Russian, French, 1892 to 1990, a limited edition serigraph, Tiger Lily Autumn, from The Four Seasons. The serigraph depicts an anthropomorphic female figure with the legs, arms, and tail of a beast sitting in a tree bleeding from the chest and weeping. Signed, lower right. Stamped with embossing, Erte, Published by Mirage Editions. Copyright 1979, Mirage Editions Santa Monica, Calif. Dr. Warren Valencia, lower to the center. Framed. Romain de Tirtoff was a Russian and French artist and designer known by the pseudonym Erte, from the French pronunciation of his initials. He was a 20th century genuis artist, graphic artist, illustrator, set designer, fashion designer, sculptor of the Art deco era, Russian origin, who worked in Paris and Hollywood.
