KONSTANTIN KOROVIN RUSSIAN MIXED MEDIA PAINTING
Gouache and watercolor on board painting by Konstantin Korovin, 1861 to 1939, a leading Russian Impressionist painter who lived in France since 1922. The artwork represents a view of an old Russian town with wooden architecture. This lot is a sketch for a theatrical decoration. Signed by the artist and dated 1923 in the lower right. Wooden frame. Throughout his career, Korovin had been involved in theatre. In exile, he produced stage designs for many of the major theatres of Europe, America, Asia and Australia. Collectible Fine Art.
