ATTR TO ETEL ADNAN ABSTRACT LEBANESE OIL PAINTING
Attributed to Etel Adnan, Lebanese, 1925 to 2021, oil painting on masonite depicting an abstract landscape in red and yellow. Signed and titled Sunrise on the back side. Framed. Etel Adnan was a Lebanese American poet, essayist, and visual artist. Adnan made visual works in a variety of media, such as oil paintings, films and tapestries, which have been exhibited at galleries across the world. Adnan was first an author of poetry and prose, often addressing and protesting against the turmoil of the Vietnam War and the Lebanese Civil War. In the 1960s, she began integrating Arabic calligraphy into her artworks and her books. One of a kind artwork.
