AMERICAN RELIGIOUS ETCHING BY DOROTHY SWARTZ FOLEY
Etching on paper by Dorothy Swartz Foley, 1921 to 2004, an American painter and poet, member of the National League of American Pen Women and of the Third Order of Saint Francis. The artwork depicts a monk with inscription Lord, Make Me an Instrument of Thy Peace on the right. Titled St. Francis and dated 2 out of 100 in the lower left. Signed by the artist in the lower right. Grey mat, wooden frame. Francis of Assisi was a 13th-century Italian mystic and Catholic friar who founded the religious order of the Franciscans.
