ANTIQUE JAPANESE WOODBLOCK KAIGETSUDO ANCHI COURTESAN - Kaigetsudo Anchi, Japanese, active circa from 1700 to 1716, a hand-colored woodblock print titled Courtesan Walking, executed in the tan-e style, characterized by the use of orange and yellow hues. This vertical o-oban print showcases a courtesan in a flowing kimono. The artwork reflects the refined aesthetic and iconic style associated with Edo-period ukiyo-e. Signed and sealed lower right. Kaigetsudo Anchi was an artist of the Kaigetsudo school of ukiyo-e art. He was the student and likely the son of the schools founder, Kaigetsudo Ando.
