1959 SKETCHES OF COLONIAL WILLIAMSBURG PORTFOLIO
Four Sketches of Colonial Williamsburg for Framing. Produced for Williamsburg Restoration Inc. by Charles H. Overly, 1959. Four monochrome offset lithographs in portfolio with two accompanying info sheets. The artworks depict the four major 18th-century buildings of Williamsburg, Virginia. The Governors Palace, The Capitol, Bruton Parish Church, The Wren Building. Each print is signed by the artist in plate in the lower right and hand-titled in the lower left. Charles H. Overly, a graduate of the University of Vermont, founded the studio which bears his name in 1938. He was known for his pencil sketches of architecture, which were sold as prints. The business was later acquired by Jardine Associates. Collectible Graphic Art Prints, Americana, Local History.
