1949 HORSE RACING CALENDAR W ILLUSTRATIONS OF PALENSKE
A vintage 1949 horse racing calendar contains printed illustrations of horses by the Reinhold H. Palenske and information of the artist titled The Great Outdoors. The calendar features black and white illustrations of horses, made in a drypoint etching style. Above the image, text explains the background of the artist, R. H. Palenske. Reinhold H. Palenske, 1884 to 1954, American, born in Chicago, Illinois. His primary works focused on the American and Canadian West, including the people, animals, and landscapes inspired by his travels. After completing his studies, Palenske secured exclusive representation with the publishing company Brown and Bigelow, whose works were reproduced in calendars and promotional materials for hunting and fishing equipment.
