ANTIQUE FRENCH PIERRE JULES MENE BRONZE ELEPHANT VASE
An antique cast bronze Elephant sculptural vase by Pierre Jules Mene, 1810 to 1879, a French sculptor and animalier who is considered one of the pioneers of animal sculpture in the 19th century. The vase is modeled after three elephants standing side by side. It is mounted on a green granite base with a gilded plaque with the artists name in the middle. Signed and dated.
