LARGE RUSSIAN SILVER PLIQUE A JOUR ENAMEL EGG W ICON - A highly collectible large Russian 88 gilt silver and enamel folding Easter egg with an icon inside. The egg case is embellished with polychrome foliage, and floral and scrollwork patterns are made in the Plique a Jour technique. Completed with an icon depicting the St. George framed in an 84 silver frame. The egg has a clasp on the side. The frame of the icon is marked with an 84 Russian silver standard hallmark and makers mark. And the egg is marked with an 88 Russian silver standard hallmark and makers mark.
