MODERN SLOVAK ILLUSTRATION ETCHING BY ALBIN BRUNOVSKY
Albin Brunovsky, Slovakian, 1935 to 1997, etching on paper depicting a Figurative portrait of a man, probably an allegory of the master of the forest. Inscribed and stamped, To Louis Berger Paris, on the backside. Albin Brunovsky was a Slovak artist, designer, lithographer, illustrator and teacher. He was a People's Artist of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic. He is best known as an illustrator of childrens books. Albin was also a teacher at the Bratislava Higher School of Fine Arts and the designer of the last series of Czechoslovak crown banknotes.
