INDO PERSIAN KALAMKARI PAINTED TEXTILE WALL HANGING
An antique Indo Persian Kalamkari lined cotton textile wall hanging. The textile is adorned with traditional hand painted foliage, floral, paisley and geometrical patterns on the red ground. The backside is decorated with figural, floral and foliage motifs. Circa: late 19th century to early 20th century. Kalamkari or chitsazi is the Iranian art of applying designs to fabric; carried out both manually and using special printing stamps.
