ANTIQUE LATE 19TH C RARE RUSSIAN LACQUERED BOX
An antique late 19th century rare Russian lacquered hand painted trinket box with a hinged lid. Black body, silver interior. The lid depicts a scene of Russian village life. Two stamps on the inner side of the lid, first with the text Alexander III Emperor All Russian, and second with the text All Russian Exhibition 1882. Marked with Vishnyakov manufacture in Zhostovo. Zhostovo is a village in the Moscow area, a well known center of lacquer miniature art and painting on metal. Russian Lacquer Miniature For Collectors, Folk Art And Decor.
