ANTIQUE 19TH C RUSSIAN ORTHODOX ICON OF CHRIST ALMIGHTY - An antique Russian Orthodox icon of Jesus Christ in Pantocrator iconography, also known as Lord Almighty, hand-painted in egg tempera, gold leaf and gesso on a wood panel. Central Russia, 19th century. The icon is finely executed in bright colors and richly ornate. According to the canon, Jesus holds the Gospel in his left hand, while his right hand is raised in a gesture of blessing. Inscriptions in Old Church Slavonic.
