ANTIQUE 19TH C RUSSIAN ICON LORD ALMIGHTY ON THRONE
An antique 19th-century Russian Orthodox icon representing Jesus in the Christ Pantocrator iconography, known in the Western Christianity as Christ in Majesty. Mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board. Titled in Church Slavonic above. Jesus Christ is depicted seated on throne, flanked with archangels, Virgin Mary, and Saint John the Baptist. Decorative gilding. Collectible Russian Silverware, Orthodox Christian Religious Items.
