VIETNAMESE WATERCOLOR PAINTING ATTR MAI TRUNG THU - Watercolor on silk painting attributed to Mai Trung Thu, 1906 to 1980, a Vietnamese artist based in France, member of the first class of the Ecole des Beaux Arts de l Indochine in Hanoi along with Le Pho. The artwork depicts a portrait of a woman carrying her son on her back. Artists signature, date 1942 and seal in the lower left. Main subjects of Mai Thu were women, children and daily life, incorporating traditional Vietnamese conceptions about fine and folk arts. Collectible Oriental Fine Art, Southeast Asian Artists.
