ALEXANDER MARK ROSSI BRITISH OIL PAINTING C 1900 - Alexander Mark Rossi, British, 1840 to 1916, an oil on canvas painting Lessons on the Sea Shore. Signed, A.M.Rossi, lower right. Housed in an ornate gilt wood frame with a metal plate bearing the title of the painting and the name of the artist. Alexander Mark Rossi was a Victorian painter who was born in Corfu in 1840. Rossi painted genres of bourgeois society, sensitive children's pictures and portraits in the pre-Raphaelite style.
