ANTIQUE CHINESE GREEN NEPHRITE GUANYIN FIGURINE
An antique 19th century Chinese figurine of Guanyin hand carved of natural green nephrite. The goddess is depicted with a smiling face, wearing long robes and an elaborate hairstyle. Mounted on a wooden stand with carved flowers. Guanyin is a character of Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, and Japanese mythology, a bodhisattva, or a goddess who appears mainly in a female form, saving people from all sorts of disasters, giver of children, obstetrician, patroness of the female half of the house.
