AMERICAN WATERCOLOR GRAPHITE PAINTING BY CHAIM GROSS
Chaim Gross, Austrian, American, 1904 to 1991, watercolor and graphite painting on paper, The Sisters, 1960. Signed and dated, lower right. Framed. Provenance: Exhibition at Nassau County Museum of Fine Arts, Roslyn, NY, 1984 to 1985. An original paper label is on the backside. New England Auctions, Fred Giampietro, January 11, 2024, lot 747. Original auction paper labels are on the backside. Chaim Gross will always be remembered as one of the foremost American sculptors who practiced direct carving in wood. This installation of graphic works and sculptures in wood and bronze, executed between 1932 and 1976, celebrates his long, prolific career and the beneficent gift of his Acrobatic Performers from the Renee and Chaim Gross Foundation. One of a kind artwork.

Condition
Overall good vintage condition. Signs of wear and age. Has some stains and tears. Chips in matte and frame. Refer to photos. Sold as is.
