JAPANESE WOOD BLOCK PRINT OTSU E STANDARD BEARER
A Japanese Otsu e wood block print in color and ink on paper depicting the Standard Bearer (Yarimochi yakko). Signed with Japanese ideograms on the upper right. Otsu-e was a folk art that began in 17th century Japan and depended on the busy road traffic of the trade route through the district where it was produced in Otsu, near Kyoto.
