An Ancient Egyptian blue-glazed clay amulet figurine. Late Period or Ptolemaic Egypt, ca. 4th to 1st centuries BC. The piece represents Taweret, a goddess of childbirth and fertility, typically depicted as a female hippopotamus with feline attributes, the limbs and paws of a lion, and the back and tail of a Nile crocodile.
