ANCIENT ROMAN BRONZE FIGURES MERCURY AND MINERVA
A pair of ancient Roman bronze figures. The first, a statue of the god Mercury dating from the 1st to the 3rd century AD, exudes an aura of divine grace and agility. Discovered in the Balkans, this representation of Mercury, messenger of the gods, reflects the influence of Roman culture in distant lands. Accompanying Mercury is a votive figurine of the goddess Minerva, dating from the 2nd to the 4th century AD and unearthed in Bulgaria. As the goddess of wisdom, warfare, and the arts, Minerva held a revered place in Roman society. Ancient Roman Figurines And Archeological Artifacts For Collectors.
