An antique 19th century pastel on paper laid on canvas painting depicting a portrait of a charming young lady, after the original painting Nymph from Apollos Retinue, 1721, by Rosalba Carriera, Italian, 1675 to 1757. Stamped verso: Exposition Universelle De 1855, Mention Honorable, Papier, Carton Chassis, Toiles, Anti Ponce Pour Le Pastel, P. L. Brevesee, Paris, Marque Deposee. Housed in a richly decorated gilt wood and gesso frame with a relief composition of flowers and musical instruments on top. One of a kind artwork. European Fine Art And Wall Decor Collectibles.
