ENGLISH OIL PORTRAIT PAINTING OF WOMAN 19TH CENT - An antique English, oil on board portrait painting of a woman. Circa the late 19th century. This fine realistic portrait shows a wealthy Englishwoman dressed in late 19th century fashion in a formal black dress with a white lace collar and a large gold brooch set with precious stones in the middle. She has long expensive earrings and a large gold necklace. On the head is a thin lace hood decorated with embroidered flowers. The portrait is housed in a wood oval carved frame.
