ENGLISH GILT SILVER AMETHYST EGG STUART DEVLIN 1967
Comprising an Elizabeth Il gilt-washed sterling silver surprise egg by Stuart Devlin, London, 1967, the exterior with a textured pattern and the interior reveals a daisy flower with faceted amethyst to center and a gilt Bee on spring above. Size of the amethyst: D 12 mm, about 10 K. Numbered 51 underneath. Fully marked and part-marked. Note: Stuart Leslie Devlin AO CMG was an Australian artist and metalworker who specialized in gold and silver. He designed coins for countries around the world, and became especially well known as a London-based designer of collectors items in the 1970s and 1980s.
