LARGE ANTIQUE 19TH C RUSSIAN ICON OF SAINT NICHOLAS
A large 19th century Russian Orthodox icon of St. Nicholas Wonderworker. Saint Nicholas is depicted frontally half figured, wearing bishops clothes, blessing with his right hand and holding open Gospels with his left one. Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary offering an omofor are shown behind him. Hand painted with egg tempera, gold leaf, gesso on a wood panel. Russian Christian Religious Items and Collectibles.
