An antique 19th-century Russian Orthodox icon representing John the Baptist with Baby Jesus in his hands. Mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board. Gilt background. Four saints are depicted on the borders, Spiridon, Antonina, Agripina, and Irina. Each character is named in Church Slavonic. Religious Christian Collectibles, Russian Icon Painting.
