Attributed to Nicolas De Stael, Russian, French, 1914 to 1955, oil painting on burlap depicting an abstract landscape composition, 1950. Signed, lower left. Additionally dated, and inscribed, on the backside. Nicolas de Stael is a French painter of Russian origin, one of the greatest masters of post war European art. Nicolas de Stael was a French painter of Russian origin known for his use of a thick impasto and his highly abstract landscape painting. He also worked with collage, illustration and textiles. One of a kind artwork.
