HUNGARIAN RURAL OIL PAINTING BY JANOS LAJOS TIHANYI - Janos Lajos Tihanyi, Hungarian, 1892 to 1957, oil painting on canvas depicting a rural scene with fruit pickers. Signed lower right and inscribed, Budapest, lower right. Framed. Janos Tihanyi was a painter, graphic artist. His first works have an impressionist influence, some of which were published in 1917 and 1918. After the end of the First World War, he resumed his studies at Bela Ivanyi Grünvald and Istvan Reti, then at the graphic arts department of Viktor Olgyai at the Budapest College of Fine Arts. From 1925 he participated in group exhibitions at the National Salon and the Ernst Museum. In addition to his graphics, he painted landscapes and seascapes, many of which can be found in the National Gallery. One of a kind artwork. Dimensions Overall size: Frame 30 x 38 1/4 in.
