SOUTH AFRICAN STILL LIFE PAINTING BY IRMA STERN FRAMED
Irma Stern, South African, 1894 to 1966, oil still life painting on canvas depicting flowers in the vase. Signed by the artist lower right and dated 1961. Additionally inscribed to the label mounted to the frame. Irma Stern was a major South African artist who achieved national and international recognition in her lifetime. Almost one hundred solo exhibitions were held during her lifetime both in South Africa and Europe, including Germany, France, Italy and England.
