A Modern mixed media painting on canvas depicting an abstract composition after Nicolas De Stael, Russian, French, 1914 to 1955. Inscribed, Stael and dated 52, lower right. Framed. Nicolas de Stael is a French painter of Russian origin, one of the greatest masters of post war European art. He is known for Abstract painting, still life, figurative, landscapes. Nicolas de Stael was a celebrated French painter known for his distinctly abstracted landscapes rendered with thickly applied oil paint, often by palette knife. His deeply personal and expressive work features overlapping blocks of densely saturated color, vacillating between representational and the abstract. One of a kind artwork.
