Irma Stern, South African, 1894 to 1966, oil painting on canvas depicting a rural landscape, 1961. Signed and dated, lower right. Framed. Irma Stern is known for Portrait, figure, still life and genre painting, ceramics. Irma Stern was a major South African artist who achieved national and international recognition in her lifetime. Almost one hundred solo exhibitions were held during her lifetime both in South Africa and Europe including Germany, France, Italy and England. One of a kind artwork.
