RUSSIAN VISHNYAKOV LACQUER MINIATURE TRINKET BOX - An antique late 19th-century Russian lacquered hand-painted wooden trinket box with hinged lid. Black body, silver interior. The lid depicts a winter scene with a horse carriage. Traces of stamps on the inner side of the lid, presumably Vishnyakov manufacture in Zhostovo. Zhostovo is a village in Moscow Oblast, a well-known center of lacquer miniature art and painting on metal trays. Russian Lacquer Miniature For Collectors, Folk Art And Decor. Dimensions H 3 3/4 in.
