ANTIQUE 18TH C JAPANESE EDO PERIOD WOODBLOCK PRINT
An antique Japanese Edo period engraving in the Ukiyo e style, dates from the 18th century. The engraving consists of two parts located on one sheet. On the left side of the engraving you can see wild horses running quickly and expressively to the sides. And on the right side are two elderly hermits watching horses and laughing. Attributed to Tachibana Morikuni. Provenance: from the collection of Dr. Horacio Fabrega, Pittsburgh, PA. Ukiyo e is a genre of Japanese art that flourished from the 17th through 19th centuries.
