A rare Russian Orthodox icon of Adam and Eve and the Fall of Man, hand painted in tempera on gessoed wood panel with double kovcheg. The bottom field of the image depicts the creation of Adam and Eve. At the top of the picture, Adam and Eve are led by an angel; on the left, a snake whispers to Eve to eat the forbidden fruit.
