RUSSIAN JADE GOLD PLATINUM SILVER DIAMONDS MATCHBOX - A Russian matchbox holder composed of a Nephrite jade foundation, the front clasp made of gold, covered with red guilloche enamel and set with diamonds. The backside bears platinum hinges adorned with cobalt blue enamel and set with diamonds. The base is made of gilded silver with repousse decorations depicting tied ribbons. Comes with a fitted wooden box. Circa: 19th century. Hallmarks to the base: 56 Russian gold standard for 14K gold, an 84 Russian silver standard, and other Russian hallmarks.
