Excerpts from Platos Republic. Privately printed by Dr. C. Charles Burlingame, New York and Hartford, 1940. Hardcover with gilding. Raw page cuts. Color plates. Dr. C. Charles Burlingame, 1885 to 1950, was a reknown American psychiatrist and lecturer who was associated with the Institute of Living, Hartford, Connecticut. The Republic is one of the key philosophical text in the Western culture, written by Plato ca. 375 BC, which concerns the nature of justice, order and character of the just city-state, and the just man.
