An antique American steel engraving printed on paper portrait of Thomas Hart Benton, 1782 to 1858, nicknamed Old Bullion, was a United States Senator from Missouri. After the painting by Alonzo Chappel, 1828 to 1887. Published by Johnson, Fry and Co. Publishers in 1862. From Evert A. Duyckinck, National Portrait Gallery of Eminent Americans: Including Orators, Statesmen, Naval and Military Heroes, Jurists, Authors, Etc...Vol. II.
