RUSSIAN GILT SILVER ICON PENDANT SERGIY OF RADONEZH - A Russian Orthodox icon pendant representing Saint Sergiy Radonezhsky, one of the most celebrated saints of the Orhodox church. Mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board. Titled in Church Slavonic. The icon is set in a gilt silver frame with polychrome champleve enamel ornament. There is a suspension on top. Hallmark of 84 silver standard and Pavel Ovchinnikov’s maker’s mark are on the side of the framing. Pavel Ovchinnikov was a Russian jewelry manufacturer and supplier of the Imperial court in the late 19th - early 20th century. Total Weight: 138 grams.
